Elburn, IL– June 25, 2021
Rob and Susi Brucato, owners of Senctcerely Yours on State Street in Geneva, were looking to downsize from their single-family home in St. Charles but wanted to remain close to their business.
“It was a one-and-done,” said Rob Brucato. “We spent last summer exploring our low maintenance options in Elburn, St Charles, Geneva and Batavia and the minute we walked into Shodeen’s Village Home model at Elburn Station we knew that was it.”
Located in Kane County, Elburn Station sits between two elementary schools in highly-regarded Kaneland School District #302. Three series of homes, each offering ranch and two-story designs, are available. Low-maintenance Village Homes range from 1,028 to 2,100 square feet with one to three bedrooms, one to 2 1/2 baths, unfinished, insulated basements or optional finished basements and two car garages. Homes in the Settlements Series range from 1,556 to 2,230 square feet in size with two to four bedrooms, two or 2 ½ baths, island kitchens, flex space, basements and two-car garages. The Crossings Series homes range from 2,043 to 2,674 square feet in size with three or four bedrooms, two or 2 ½ baths, formal and informal living space, gourmet kitchens open to great rooms, flex space, optional finished basements and two or three-car garages.
“We chose our home for its open concept design,” said Susi Brucato. “In our prior home, when we entertained and I was in the kitchen cooking, I wasn’t able to be part of the party. In our new home the kitchen, family room and den are all open. We loved the light and bright interior with white cabinets and countertops that was a contrast from our past home that had dark woods. Our home has a front porch, which I always wanted, and we love our screened back patio. Rob also was impressed with the open basement that didn’t have stairs dividing the space, which will make it easy to finish in the future.”
Elburn Station is 505-acre master-planned community centered around the Elburn Metra Station and is an AT&T Fiber community boasting 99% connectivity reliability. Downtown Elburn is within walking distance and features shops, restaurants and other retailers. The community is also minutes from Randall Road, which offers shopping, dining and other services as well as Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. The nearby Interstate 88 and Route 47 exchange add to commuting ease.
“Elburn Station is truly the best of both worlds,” Rob said. “You can’t imagine how quiet and peaceful it is as we drink our coffee on the back patio yet we can walk to the restaurants and shops in Elburn or are less than five miles from everything imaginable on Randall Road. Having the Metra station within walking distance of our house is also a big benefit especially for those who commute downtown every day.”
The first phase of the 20-acre Elburn Station Community Park has opened and will include soccer and lacrosse fields, pickle ball courts, walking paths, multiple playgrounds, a tennis court, two half-court basketball courts, pavilion and a parking lot. The Hughes Creek Golf Club is nearby and the Lion’s Club Annual Elburn Days kicks off August 20th with a parade and draws visitors from across the state.
“We are in a customer service business and really appreciated Shodeen’s responsiveness,” Susi said. “They were very helpful and great to work with.”
Each Shodeen Home is backed by a 1-5-10-year warranty and exceeds energy-efficient industry standards by including energy-efficient windows, water heaters, appliances, spray foam and insulated basements.
Buyers at Elburn Station may choose to build their home and utilize interactive online tools that help in the design process as well as an online mortgage calculator. A selection of homes in all three series is also available for summer delivery.
