Lake Geneva, WI – January 26, 2023– Long-time renters, Trey Morava, a Williams Bay, Wisconsin native, and his wife Kaitlin, a Chicago native, decided it was time to leave their landlord behind and dive into home ownership. The couple, who both work in Walworth County, wanted to remain near friends, family and enjoy all that the area offers.
“We spent seven months home shopping before we found the perfect fit at Edgewood Vistas,” Kaitlin said. “Much of what we saw prior to that was older construction that would’ve required extensive remodeling to get what wanted. When we saw Edgewood Vistas online, we went to visit and knew that would be home. We could build the home we wanted, and we are tucked away but minutes from Route 12, downtown Lake Geneva, Williams Bay, Delavan and the other side of the lake.”
Edgewood Vistas is Shodeen Homes’ newest community and offers 59 ranch and two-story single-family homes ranging from 1,600 to 2,230 square feet with prices starting from the $380s. Trey and Kaitlin chose the 2,138-square-foot, two-story Dakota plan with three bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, lookout basement and 2.5-car garage.
“We really liked the open concept main floor,” Kaitlin said. “I also liked the flex room on the first floor and upstairs laundry. Shodeen also offered trim work around the windows and doors which we wanted and added as an option.”
Trey was impressed with Shodeen’s ability to customize their home.
“We added custom insulation to soundproof the laundry room since it sits next to the guest room upstairs. We added a custom shower door in the master bedroom, we opened up the staircase to the basement by removing a wall, we added outlets and rough-in plumbing to the basement as well so it will be easy to finish in the future. We also added a large Trex deck, which we look forward to enjoying with friends this summer.”
Features that are included in every Edgewood Vistas home include wide plank engineered wood flooring in kitchens, foyers and powder rooms, granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, painted trim, baseboards and six-panel doors, ceramic tile flooring in bathrooms and a 1- 5- and 10-year warranty program.

The couple, who moved December 16th, added that they love to entertain in their new home and were hosting a late Christmas dinner celebration with family and had hosted friends for a Korean barbecue party the night before.
The community, which is less than one mile from downtown Lake Geneva, is set among rolling hills and bordered by 2.7 acres of mature trees that will include a future nature walking path. Children attend Lake Geneva School District J1, including Badger High School.
“I went to Badger High School and it was awesome,” Trey said. “They have an amazing music program and great athletics. The jazz band is consistently ranked in the top 15 in the nation.”
The Lake Geneva area is known for its 5,400-square-foot lake and 21-mile shore path that offer endless year-round recreational opportunities.
“We love to hike and walk the shore path, fish and golf in the summer- there are a lot of 5-star golf courses close to home,” Kaitlin said.
Trey added that great casual and fine dining restaurants are abundant in the area.
“We’ve had a wonderful experience building our home with Shodeen,” Kaitlin said. “From the first time we visited the sales office to the construction manager and customer service- everyone has been very responsive, helpful and informative. I am a Veteran and they were very helpful when working with the VA office for our VA loan.”
