Shodeen’s Elburn Station Seen as Benefit to Village of Elburn and Blackberry Township

Elburn, IL– February 4, 2021 – With 2,200 homes approved to be built, nearly doubling the size of the Village of Elburn, and the upcoming grand opening of the first phase of a 20-acre community park, Shodeen Homes’ Elburn Station is seen as a positive catalyst for growth.

“We’re glad to have Shodeen in town,” said John Nevenhoven, Elburn Village Administrator.  “They’re adding a nice variety of housing to what already exists in Elburn and in a great location near the Metra train station.  This long-term project will drive more business to our existing restaurants and retailers in downtown Elburn as well as attract new ones. We look forward to the first 4-acres of the 20-acre park to open this spring, offering a playground and multiple ball fields in this first phase.”

The Norway
Shodeen’s master-planned community, Elburn Station, with Metra train station and 20-acrea park, will benefit Village of Elburn and Blackberry Township for generations to come.

Located in Kane County, where Route 38 intersects with Route 47, also known as Main Street, Elburn is currently home to nearly 6,000 residents. Elburn Station sits between two elementary schools in highly-regarded Kaneland School District #302. Three series of homes, each offering ranch and two-story designs, are available with prices starting in mid-$200s. Low-maintenance Village Homes range from 1,028 to 2,100 square feet with one to three bedrooms, one to 2 1/2 baths, unfinished, insulated basements or optional finished basements and two car garages. Homes in the Settlements Series range from 1,556 to 2,230 square feet in size with two to four bedrooms, two or 2 ½ baths, island kitchens, flex space, basements and two-car garages with homes priced from the $290s.  The Crossings Series homes range from 2,043 to 2,674 square feet in size with three or four bedrooms, two or 2 ½ baths, formal and informal living space, gourmet kitchens open to great rooms, flex space, optional finished basements and two or three-car garages.

“We were very excited to collaborate with the Village of Elburn and Shodeen to create a park that will be such a great addition to the community and Blackberry Township,” said Esther Steel, Blackberry Township Supervisor. “A park should cater to all residents, from age 2 to 110, which is what the Elburn Station Community Park does.  The park includes key components such as soccer and lacrosse fields, walking paths, tot playgrounds and pickleball courts. It’s been a pleasure to work with Shodeen and the Village to bring this project to fruition.”

The Elburn Station Community Park is part of the larger 505-acre master-planned Elburn Station community is located just north of Keslinger Road and east of Liberty Drive. In addition to the amenities Steel mentioned, the park will also include multiple playgrounds, a tennis court, two half-court basketball courts, pavilion and a parking lot.

Elburn Station is, on a smaller scale, similar to Shodeen’s Mill Creek community in Geneva,” said Craig Shodeen, President of Shodeen Homes.  “Building homes for 60 years in the Fox Valley area, it has always been our priority to build state-of-the-art homes with top-quality products and develop communities with sought after amenities that provide enduring value for residents and municipalities for generations to come.”

Elburn Station is centered around the Elburn Metra Station and is an AT&T Fiber community boasting 99% connectivity reliability. Downtown Elburn is within walking distance and features shops, restaurants and other retailers. The community is also minutes from Randall Road, which offers shopping, dining and other services as well as Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital.  The nearby Interstate 88 and Route 47 exchange add to commuting ease.

Buyers at Elburn Station may choose to build their home and utilize interactive online tools that help in the design process as well as an online mortgage calculator.  A selection of homes in all three series is also available for quick delivery.  Models are open daily and select homes are available for self-guided tours.
